These unedged training blades provide for safe drawing for the beginning practitioner of the 450 year old art of Iaido. Forged from stainless steel the tempered blades are not only maintenance-free but more importantly provide the correct weight and balance needed for the rigours of repetitive drawing and sword motion practice. Each blade has a deeply cut groove (bo-hi) to provide audible feedback when swung properly.

The Gorin ( Musashi Myamoto) Iaito is a traditionally made training sword developed especially for the practice of Iaido.

The blade is made of steel making it stronger than most which are made from aluminium alloy. However it is still lighter than a traditional Katana. As can be see in the photographs, the blade has a full length Bo-Hi with a beautifull Hamon and a generous curve. Same is genuine ray skin with a black suede/leather Itto Make and cotton, black Sageo. The Fuchi and Kashira are in a brushed design with the fittings, Habaki, Seppa and Shitodome done in silver. Saya is black and has been finished slightly matt though not fully Kuroishime. The Tsuka is double pegged for added security.

Authentic and traditional crane (tsuru) tsuba with matching fuchi and kashira. Genuine black ray skin (same) with genuine black silk handle wrapping (tsuka ito) and sageo. The sheath (saya) is part bound in genuine ray skin for authenticity from the koiguchi (sheath mouth piece) and the ray skin is finished at the kurikata (knobble on sheath).
